Earn and Learn Project
This website is a tribute to the students, Africa's future leaders, who
have participated in the MBendi / Saville / UCT Earn and Learn Project, and to
those who provide material and educational assistance to the students during
the project.
With generous funding from Duncan Saville, University of Cape Town (UCT)
Commerce ADP students from a range of disadvantaged educational and family
backgrounds work with MBendi researchers and student leaders to collect and
collate information on the world's less developed economies. This information
is recorded in the databases used on the MBendi website.
The project is designed to be a genuine win-win-win-win project
where:
- the students earn a salary and gain a much broader knowledge of
business and the global economy
- the MBendi website is enriched with pages of new or revised
information
- business visitors to the MBendi website are able to access a more
valuable information resource
- less developed countries, specially in Africa, are provided with a
new avenue to market their business opportunities and advantages to the
investment community
As you read the personal profiles provided by each participating student
for this website, you will be struck by the diversity of their backgrounds and
touched by their comments on the programme and what they have gained from the
experience.
One day, if and when MBendi makes millions, we dream of bringing
together talented young people from across the African continent to participate
in similar ventures where they can earn and learn with and from each other and
where Africa and the whole world can gain from the experience.
Those of you who would like to comment on the project, provide ideas for
the future or offer your assistance are encouraged to contact us.
