Investment opportunities lie in the development of accommodation and transport as well as in the private sector.
The tourism industry in Namibia contributes a large proportion to the country’s GDP and is the fastest growing sector in the economy. The Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) needs to be commercialised and Namibia Wildlife Resorts transferred certain functions of the Ministry during 1998. The Namibia Tourism Board controls promotion and regulation of the industry.
