According to the 2008 BP Statistical Energy Survey, the Republic of Ireland consumed an average of 197.74 thousand barrels a day of oil in 2007, 0.23% of the world total and a change from 2006 of 2.61 tbpd. According to the 2008 BP Statistical Energy Survey, the Republic of Ireland had 2007 natural gas consumption of 4.76 billion cubic metres, 0.16% of the world total.
