According to the same survey, North America produced an average of 13664.8 thousand barrels of crude oil per day in 2007 and consumed an average of 25024.26 thousand barrels a day.
According to the 2008 BP Statistical Energy Survey, North America had 2007 proved natural gas reserves of 7.97 trillion cubic metres, 4.49% of the world total. In 2007 North America had natural gas production of 775.8 billion cubic metres and consumption of 800.95 billion cubic metres.
North America had a 2007 refinery capacity of 20970.27 thousand barrels a day, 23.85% of the world total.
