Australia is a major producer of uranium, containing 40 percent of world's known reserves. It is the world's second largest producer after Canada. Australia is one of the few countries globally that has reported a sharp increase in uranium production, despite the historical price lows.

^ Mining Companies active

Energy Resources Australia (ERA) is a subsidiary of Rio Tinto. ERA’s Ranger operation is the country's major uranium producer, supplying around 8% of the western world's uranium demand.

WMC produces uranium as a co product of its operations at the Olympic Dam mine. Olympic Dam is the world's largest known uranium deposit.

Southern Cross Resources are on track with the development of the Honeymoon deposit in Australia.
