Africa produces 3.1% of global antimony which equates to approximately 3700 t each year, primarily from South Africa. Russia, Bolivia and South Africa together
produce 90% of the world’s antimony. Zimbabwe produces antimony as a
by-product of its gold mining operations.
Metorex own and operate South Africa’s
only Antimony mine, Consolidated Murchison, which also produces gold as a by
product.
