ABOUT THE GAS SUMMIT

The International Gas Summit is a conference organized every year in Paris since 1996, by the Institut Français du Pétrole - ENSPM-FI, SPTEC , PETROSTRATEGIES. In 2004, the organizers had the pleasure to be joined by POTEN & PARTNERS, Inc.

It has become one of the most important yearly events gathering the decision takers of the energy scene, to exchange viewpoints and appreciate the international situation and future perspectives of the world oil market.

At the occasion of these Summits, key industry issues are discussed, including:

  • the current situation and future prospects of the world gas market ;
  • the security of supply;
  • gas and electricty market liberalization;
  • the growing dependence of the electricity sector on gas;
  • LNG market globalization ;
  • etc

Given the present international context, these issues have been thrown into relief.

In fact, in addition to predictable changes in terms of trade, organization, regulation and technology, economic and geopolitical uncertainties will have medium- and long-term impact on the gas industry.

The International Gas Summit is meant to contribute to furthering the debate on these issues.
