The Flour Fortification Initiative (FFI) workshop is a unique
opportunity to meet with African representatives of key government, industry,
NGO's and civic organizations. You will combine resources, share experiences,
and work together to foster flour fortification through a country- centered
approach.
Attending the workshop will allow you to learn from other African
countries in various stages of implementing fortification and likewise share
your experiences with other countries. Learn how to overcome the challenges to
fortification and take the next step toward improving your country's health and
productivity.
The interactive format will allow you to address concerns in an open
environment. Among the topics to be addressed are:
- Health and economic benefits of flour fortification
- Cost of flour fortification
- The newest scientific and technical insights on appropriate types
and levels of fortificants
- Technical aspects of milling
- Experiences with maize and flour fortification
